Several RAM Pickups are Being Recalled- Here's What You Need to Know

Here at Bob Pforte Motors we're dedicated to keeping our readers informed on the latest Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM news. This means we're also here to let you know when a recall has been issued so that drivers can bring in their vehicle for repairs or sevice. Recently, Chrysler announced it would be recalling 47,000 RAM 1500 full-size pickup trucks and RAM 4500/5500 heavy-duty pickups that may have track bar and ESC software issues.

The issue, as Chrysler explains it, is as follows for the 1500 model: "A disabled ESC system may result in loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash."1 Of course, Chrysler is extremely concerned about this situation, and if you bring in your affected truck (after receiving a letter of recall), our RAM service center will be happy to updated your ESC module software at no cost to you.

The additional 1,058 RAM 4500 and 5500 heavy-duty trucks recalled are due to the fact that "an incorrect bolt may have been used to attach the track bar to the frame"2, which could lead to the vehicle pulling to one side suddenly. Owners will be contacted if their trucks are affected, and of course, you can bring your pickup by and have us replace the track bar fasteners at no charge.
